(The above data is available in the Noland Adams Restoration Guide.)
In 1964, Chevrolet made 13,925 Corvette convertibles. Only 138 convertibles were built with AC, Powerglide, and the 327/300 motor. Then consider all of the other options on this car - some have speculated that only a handful were produced in this configuration. Today we think it is standard to have air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, an automatic transmission, tinted windows, power windows, positraction differential, an auxiliary hardtop, and an AM/FM radio. Not in the early to mid 60s. If you wanted creature comforts like these, you bought a Cadillac. This Corvette has all of the above accessories, plus the optional L-75 original engine rated at 300hp. The silver hardtop and new black soft-top keep the elements out when the weather is bad. The car had been in California since the early 70s and is 100 % original. Noted restorer, Jeff Reade in Culver City, CA, maintained this car since 1975. In 1996, Bob Moser, who is famous for his Pebble Beach Concour paint jobs, stripped and repainted the car in its original # 940 Satin Silver lacquer. The never damaged body looks better than new. Over $10,000 was spent on paint, chrome, stainless polish, grill, tail lights, new park lights, new door weather-strips, whiskers, and other trim accessories. Between 2000 and 2002, the convertible soft top was completely restored and new carpets and vinyl black seat covers replaced the originals.
